Hot Air Balloon


Cappadocia is known around the world as one of the best places to fly with hot air balloons. Take in the beauty of Cappadocia from a gentle, free-floating hot air balloon, offering a birds-eye-view of the land. Flights usually take place at sunrise which is ideal for photography with splendid colours, shadows, and contrasts.

Cycling / MTB


You can hire bikes from the hotel and go and explore the labyrinth of single tracks which criss-cross Cappadocia. Ercan will be more than happy to show you tracks and trails for all levels of ability.


Horseback riding


Discover Cappadocia in a different way. You can ride off on horseback through the valleys and the fabulous landscape of Cappadocia. Horseback riding allows you to cover a great distance on small tracks well away from the traffic and crowds. You can get a feel for the area riding through a full day exploring the fascinating frescoed and rock-carved churches of the Göreme Open Air Museum, the fairy chimneys of Paşabag and Devrent Valleys.

The Whirling Dervishes Ceremony (Sema) is a method of cleansing the human heart, a 700-year old discipline that allows a devotee to experience the immediate... What is striking about the sema ceremony they perform is its symbolism.
The ceremony has seven parts symbolizing the whirling dervish's love of God, humankind and all creation.

Airport transfers


The Monastery Hotel can organize regular and affordable transportation to the airports in Cappadocia. We provide regular shuttle as well as door-to-door services private transfers taking you to the hotel. Upon arrival at the airport exit door, you will be greeted by our driver with a sign with your name.

Car hire


Instead of using public transport, renting a car can be a good alternative providing more flexibility in your schedule. We can organise the rental of all types of vehicles ranging from small urban cars to family vans, sedans or 4-wheel drive vehicles at very competitive rates.

Rose Valley and Kaymakli


We will start our hike in the beautiful Rose Valley which will take slightly more than one hour (3 km). We will see fairy-chimneys, local farms, pigeon houses and rock-hewn cave chapels – as well as take in the wonderful range of rose-colored hues in the valley, changing in intensity depending on the season, time of day and weather conditions. Your guide will give information about the history and the unique rock formations of Cappadocia during the hike. Ah the end of the hike, we will have a quick stop at the picturesque old Çavusin cave village. Lunch. In the afternoon, we tour the Kaymakli Underground City, the first and most popular underground city in Cappadocia. This complex carved underground was used for hundreds of years by locals to hide from Romans, Persians and Maurs. Our final stop on our tour will be a photo stop. Return transfer to the Monastery Hotel around 4 or 5 pm.
