Local transport

The hotel is on the outskirts of Ürgüp and a regular bus service runs to and from Urgup at a very moderate rate. The minibuses called dolmus run every half hour from early morning till late evening.

If you need Ercan can take you or bring you to and from Urgup town centre free of charge on request at any time of the day.

HOW TO GET TO THE MONASTERY HOTEL

BY PLANE

There are 2 airports in the area : one in Kayseri situated 80 km away, they other one outside Nevsehir 60 km away. Turkish Airlines, Onur Air and Pegasus run regular flights from Istanbul and other major cities. Ask Ercan to arrange for someone to come and pick you up at the airport. The price of a flight ticket with a low-cost company or with Turkish Airlines is often more interesting than the price of a bus ticket.

BY BUS

There is a regular overnight bus which runs from Istanbul to Ürgüp. The journey takes 11 hours. Good bus companies we recommend are SÜHA and NEVSEHIR who have clean and comfortable non-smoking coaches with air-conditionning. Ercan, the hotel owner, is always happy to come and pick you up from the bus station in Ürgüp if you let him know in advance. You can call at any time of the day or night, his cell phone is open 24/7.

BY CAR

Roads between Istanbul and Cappadocia are excellent. There is a motorway between Istanbul and Ankara and after Ankara the road is very good. At the hotel we offer a rent a car. Cappadocia is an ideal base for travelling in Turkey. GPS : N 38° 34.967 E 34° 53.810
